Our in-house developed real time data logging of algorithm variables was part of what made the human-factors tuning of the system possible. Only the Rain Tracker uses sophisticated Digital Signal Processing to maintain sensitivity to the smallest raindrops while rejecting the effects of sunlight.

Response of the Rain Tracker is plotted using the Automated Rain
Generator. This computer controlled device produces a precisely
calibrated flow rate, and measures the actuation period of the wiper
control system / sensor under test. It is surprisingly difficult to
generate and appropriately low flow rate; the low flow setting is a
deposition rate of just 2 micrometers per minute! |
