Special Rain Tracker Installation Notes for this vehicle:
NOTE: MUX is DK-BLUE, MODE is GRAY on these vehicles
Note that many of these vehicles came with factory rain sensor.
This document shows how to upgrade a vehicle without rain
sensor to have rain sensor. The Rain Tracker may NOT be used
to replace the original factory rain sensor.
This is a depressed park system. That is, the wipers
park below the hood when not used. The wipers will come
up on the windshield when the Rain Tracker is on.
All wires except ground are available coming from the wiper
switch. They can usually be accessed by removing one or
two access panels (Kick Panels.) For the Rain Tracker chassis
ground, find a suitable chassis ground. Be sure to scrape away
paint as needed to get good contact.
SPECIAL TROUBLESHOOTING NOTES
Sometimes GM will have more than one Gray wire. You can check that you
have the right gray wire by putting a multi-meter into the connector.
(You do not need to cut the wire to do this) Put the system in
intermittent mode. The voltage should vary by a few volts as the
wiper cycle.
Also, on some GM: GM sometimes reverses the gray and green wires coming
from the switch. They then switch positions after the connector
coming from the switch. Check for this.
