Use the instructions included in the Rain Tracker kit until you get to step 5a. "Make the interface
connections." At that point, use these instrctions along with the diagram that can be printed above.
Return to the general instructions when the interface connections has been completed.
Some models and years may vary slightly in wire colors. Confirm wire colors with service
guide, and/or with with a multimeter.
All wiper system wires, except ground, are available at the wiper switch. They
can usually be accessed by removing one or two access panels (Kick Panels) and,
possibly, the shrouds surrounding the steering column.
FIND CHASSIS GROUND
Find a suitable screw or bolt on the metal chassis of the vehicle to use as the
Rain Tracker ground. Scrape away paint as needed for a good connection.
Use a multi-meter to verify that the ground connection is at most a few ohms.
The cigarette lighter can also be a good alternate for ground and/or power.
ALTERNATIVE INSTALLATION
Most of these vehicles have intermittent (pulse) wipers. For those without,
use the diagram for older GM without intermittent, and use the Hot Side Switching
drawing. (Comes with product.)Mark the vehicle wire colors on the Hot Side
Switching drawing, and use that to wire up the vehicle. The vehicle drawing is
for reference to help you find wires.
